The silk fashion show named ‘Da Lat – My Love’ was organized to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Da Lat’s establishment and development from 1893 to 2023. The show took place in the schoolyard of Da Lat College of Pedagogy. This French-built college, founded in 1927, was formerly known as Grand Lycée Yersin. The event was co-organized by the administration of Da Lat and Vietnam Silk House Company.

The main highlight of the show was the silk outfits inspired by the beauty of Da Lat, particularly the silk from Bao Loc City. These outfits were designed by seven famous fashion designers, including Minh Hanh, Cao Duy, and Cong Huan. They showcased popular destinations and landmarks in Da Lat, such as the Da Lat railway station, the Da Lat College of Pedagogy, Lam Vien Square, and the city’s signature flowers. In addition, fresh flowers were used as accessories for the collections.

The aim of the silk fashion show was to promote the synergy between Da Lat and Bao Loc, showcasing their local specialties to both domestic and international visitors. Dang Quang Tu, the chairman of Da Lat City, emphasized that the event aimed to highlight Da Lat as not only a city of music and art, but also a city with a rich heritage.

Alongside the silk fashion show, the city is hosting various cultural and artistic events throughout the month to celebrate its 130th anniversary. On December 30, there will be a grand celebration marking the city’s recognition as a UNESCO Creative City of Music.
